“That's a little harsh, isn't it?”

God's view of sin is expounded upon in Romans 1:18-32. This past Tuesday, I took the liberty of making the passage real personal to me. I replaced all the external pronouns for personal pronouns and replace the sins that I do have for sin that I didn't have. (I'm not a homosexual, but am lustful and gave my purity in body, mind and spirit to someone it didn't belong to fulfill my fleshly desires). This passage explains that God's wrath comes down from heaven toward my behavior and that I am foolish because in my flesh I reject the truth of God. One woman pointed out that it was a little harsh for me to say that about myself. Perhaps it is harsh, but God is holy and pure and can not look upon anything sinful without being angry. He formed me and made me to His image and I continue to dishonor Him following my own path.
Thankfully God loves his creation – loves me – enough to provide relief. Verse 16 and 17 tells us the Good News of Jesus Christ has the power of God for salvation. Seeing a need for salvation starts by being honest with who and what I am before a holy mighty God.
