As I write this, I have several people on my heart who I'm calling out for in intercessory prayer to God. In most cases these folks need love and encouragement in spite of their circumstances or how they got to the place where they are. I'm praying, “God send a hero.”
I'm reminded of the greatest hero: Lord Jesus Christ. There was a time when religious leaders brought a woman before the Lord who had committed adultery wanting to stone her. It was a test for what Jesus would do. Would He Forgive her or condemn her? Jesus said, “Let him without sin cast the first stone.” He stooped to write in the sand. While he was writing in the sand, the accusers silently left, one by one. When Christ looked up, there was not one left. “Where are your accusers now?, He said to the woman, "Neither do I condemn you. Go, and sin no more.”
Any one of those accusers could have used the opportunity to be a hero and put into place circumstances in this woman's life to help her. When someone is having hardship in their life it behooves us to act like our Saviour who forgives without condemnation. Be a hero - look for ways to be a hero in other people's lives. Your Lord is.
